Choose your Istanbul sightseeing
Every guided tour of the city is collected under Istanbul city tours, and trips that leave the city and return the same night under day trips from Istanbul. For the historic centre, compare the half-day Old City visit with the full-day route that includes Topkapi Palace. Read the named stops and admissions: seeing a landmark from outside is different from entering it, and the shorter tour leaves more time for your own plans. The Balat and Galata routes focus on neighbourhood streets beyond Sultanahmet.
Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and Beylerbeyi Palace on Mondays. If either is essential to your visit, confirm the arrangement for your date before booking. Mosque access can also affect the order of sightseeing.
Pick the right Bosphorus cruise
A sightseeing sailing, a lunch cruise and a dinner cruise with a Turkish night show offer different ways to spend time on the water. Compare the meal, drinks, entertainment and hotel transfers listed on each page. A cruise finish time is not the same as your hotel return time.
The Two Continents tour combines land visits with time on the water. Other cruises leave more of the day free for independent sightseeing. Choose the format that fits around your arrival and other bookings.
Include Istanbul in a longer Turkey trip
Many packages combine Istanbul with Cappadocia or Ephesus. Count the actual city visits and free days, not just nights in Istanbul: an airport transfer or a late flight arrival does not provide a full sightseeing day.
Compare the Turkey tour packages by route and length. If your plans need a different balance of city days and regional travel, use the Turkey trip planner.

Enter your hotel location and flight times before choosing a same-day start. Allow for baggage collection and airport travel. Hotel pickup does not always include a return transfer, and accommodation is separate on local day tours unless the page says otherwise.

How many days should I spend in Istanbul?
Two full sightseeing days let you separate the Old City from a Bosphorus or neighbourhood visit. Add more time for independent exploring. Count the time available after arrival and before departure; a three-day package may have fewer than three full days in Istanbul.
Do Istanbul tour packages include Cappadocia?
Some packages combine Istanbul and Cappadocia; others stay in the city or visit different regions. Check the daily route, overnight stays and transport. A Cappadocia visit does not automatically include a balloon flight.
What is the difference between an Istanbul city tour and a tour from Istanbul?
A city tour visits places in Istanbul. A tour from Istanbul may use the city only as a departure point for another region. Look for a named Istanbul sightseeing day if you want to visit the Old City.
Are Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque included in every tour?
No. Check the named stops and whether entry, an exterior view or a separately ticketed section is included. Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. Confirm any essential visit for your date before booking.
Can I join an Istanbul tour on the day my flight arrives?
It depends on your flight, airport and tour pickup. Allow time for arrival formalities, baggage and the road transfer. Share your flight details before booking; arriving the previous day gives you more time before an early tour.
Is a Bosphorus cruise included, and does it include a meal?
Only when the chosen itinerary lists it. Sightseeing, lunch and dinner cruises have different meals, drinks and entertainment. Check the cruise format and both hotel-transfer arrangements on the tour page.
Can I book Istanbul sightseeing before a longer Turkey tour?
Yes. Choose a package with Istanbul sightseeing at the start or plan a city stay before your regional tour. Share existing bookings so hotel nights, visits and airport transfers are not duplicated.
