Old City tours: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace

The four-hour morning tour covers Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Grand Bazaar with a licensed guide, hotel pickup and the Hagia Sophia admission ticket. On Sundays, when the bazaar is closed, a shopping stop takes its place.

The full-day Old City tour adds Topkapi Palace and the Harem section, with both admissions, a restaurant lunch and the return transfer to your hotel. Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays, so check the arrangement for your date if the palace matters most to you.

Beyond Sultanahmet: Balat, Galata and the Golden Horn

The half-day neighbourhood tour visits Yedikule Fortress, walks the streets of Balat and Galata, and rides the Golden Horn cable car. The full-day version adds a Bosphorus boat trip and lunch.

The Two Continents tour spends the day on both shores: Camlica Hill, Beylerbeyi Palace, Eyup Sultan and the Pierre Loti cable car, with a Bosphorus boat trip and lunch. Beylerbeyi Palace is closed on Mondays.

Bosphorus cruises by day and by night

The afternoon lunch cruise sails the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus for about three hours, with lunch served on board and hotel transfers at both ends. The dinner cruise adds Turkish folk dances, a belly dance show and a DJ, with unlimited soft drinks and an option for local alcoholic drinks.

For 31 December 2026 there is a separate New Year's Eve dinner cruise with unlimited local drinks and the midnight celebration on the water.

How to plan your days in Istanbul

An Old City morning and a Bosphorus cruise in the afternoon or evening fit into one day. Keep the day you land free: flight delays and hotel check-in rarely leave a full morning for sightseeing.

To leave the city and be back the same night, compare the day trips from Istanbul. For hotels, flights and sightseeing in one booking, see the Istanbul tour packages, or describe your own plan in the Turkey trip planner.

Good to know

Which Istanbul city tour is best for a first visit?

Start with the Old City. The four-hour tour covers Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Grand Bazaar; the full-day tour adds Topkapi Palace and the Harem. Add a Bosphorus cruise on another half day.

Are entrance fees included in the Istanbul city tours?

The listed admissions are included: Hagia Sophia on both Old City tours, Topkapi Palace and the Harem on the full day, Yedikule Fortress and the cable car on the Balat tours, and Beylerbeyi Palace on the Two Continents tour. Each tour page lists exactly what is paid for.

Do the tours include hotel pickup?

Yes. Every tour on this page includes pickup from central Istanbul hotels, and the full-day tours and cruises include the return transfer. Give your hotel address when you book so the pickup can be confirmed.

Is Topkapi Palace open every day?

No. Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays and Beylerbeyi Palace on Mondays. If one of them is the reason for your visit, check the arrangement for your date before booking.

How long is a Bosphorus cruise?

The lunch and dinner cruises each last about three hours. Allow extra time for the hotel pickup and return before your next plan.

Are these private tours?

No, these are shared group tours with a licensed guide. For private guiding and transport, see the private Turkey tours.
