Choose the Sanliurfa sites you want to visit

Gobeklitepe is known for its early monumental structures and T-shaped stone pillars. Tours in the Sanliurfa area may also include city visits, Harran or Karahantepe. Check each place by name; a regional title does not mean they are all included.

The collection includes a flight-based Gobeklitepe and Sanliurfa day trip from Istanbul as well as longer combinations. Compare the time on the ground with airport travel. A longer stay can make room for additional named sites or city time.

Read Mount Nemrut as a separate journey

Mount Nemrut’s royal sanctuary and monumental sculptures belong to a much later period than Gobeklitepe. A combined itinerary connects different historical sites and requires travel between them.

Check the overnight base, mountain approach and planned visiting time. Sunrise visits depend on conditions and access. Ask about the walking and seasonal arrangements for your dates, especially if Nemrut is the main reason for your trip.

Compare other regional routes

The Gaziantep and Halfeti programme offers a different combination from the Sanliurfa and Nemrut routes. Choose it for the places in that itinerary, rather than expecting the same archaeological visits on every southeastern tour.

Some packages connect from Cappadocia and finish in Istanbul. Others start and finish in Istanbul. Read the first and last days alongside your existing flights and hotels.

Include the southeast in a longer holiday

For a wider journey, compare 10–14 day and 15–20 day routes naming your preferred southeastern stops. Count the regional nights and road sections, not just the total package length.

Which places are included in Southeast Turkey tours?

Routes vary. Listings name combinations of Gobeklitepe, Sanliurfa, Harran, Karahantepe, Mount Nemrut, Gaziantep and Halfeti. Read each daily programme; no single regional label promises all these stops.

Can I visit Gobeklitepe from Istanbul?

Yes. There is a flight-based Gobeklitepe and Sanliurfa day programme, plus longer routes. Check both airport transfers, flight sectors and sightseeing. Choose a longer stay if you want additional sites or more city time.

Are Gobeklitepe and Mount Nemrut the same kind of site?

No. Gobeklitepe concerns early monumental architecture; Mount Nemrut is a much later royal sanctuary and funerary complex. They have different settings and require travel between them on a combined tour.

Can I travel from Cappadocia to southeastern Turkey on a tour?

Yes. Check the Cappadocia starting point, road sections, nights and final city. Some routes finish in Istanbul. Share existing hotel dates before arranging the connection.

Is a sunrise visit to Mount Nemrut guaranteed?

No. Mountain access and viewing conditions can vary. Confirm the seasonal arrangement, walking and planned time for your date, and ask how the programme handles a change to the visit.

Should I add Karahantepe or Harran to a Gobeklitepe trip?

Choose a programme that names the additional site and allows time for it. Tell us whether you want a focus on early archaeology or a wider regional introduction before requesting changes.

How many days should I allow for southeastern Turkey?

Choose by the places you want to visit. A focused Sanliurfa-area programme differs from a route also reaching Mount Nemrut or another city. Compare road travel and overnight bases before deciding the length.
